died at 70 at Lahore on March 19. Khalid was battling against lungs cancers. He is survived by widow, two sons and a daughter. Khalid had been writing column ‘Lamha Lamha’ for Nawa-i-Waqt.
Besides being a known poet, he was an acknowledged playwright and author of a number of books, including ‘Tashbeeb’, ‘Hathaliun Par Charagh’, Pehli Sada Parinday Ki’, Ek Muthi Hawa’ and ‘Num Grifta’ . ‘Kajol Ghar’ was one of his famous plays.
His colleagues expressed a deep sense of grief over the sad demise of the legend. They prayed to Allah Almighty to rest the departed soul in eternal peace and grant courage to bereaved family to bear this irreparable loss with fortitude.
This post was published two years ago when Khalid Ahmad had turned 68. At Alhamra Adabi Baithak Lahore, the 68th birthday of Khalid Ahmed (Noted poet and column writer of Pakistan) was celeberated.
